My name is David Weich and I own and drive "Tweet Revenge". I am 54 years old, married, and I reside in Belmont, NC. I am a professional federal bankruptcy court manager and a former U.S. Naval Officer. I graduated with honors from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1975. I first drag raced in North Florida in 1969 when I was 16 years old. I was lucky to have Kendall Motor Oil as my first sponsor. I have been licensed by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) to compete in the Super Gas class of competition. In 1999, I also met the requirements for competing in the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA), and was qualified to drive in the Super Rod class (equivalent to the Super Gas class in the NHRA). The car has met stringent construction guidelines to provide a strong chassis and plenty of safety features. The car is powered by a Ford 500 cubic inch motor built by Johnny Arnold of Pensacola, Florida. Johnny Arnold built the small-track motors and set up the rear end gears for Bobbie and Donnie Allison of NASCAR fame. The engine produces 960 horsepower and is capable of pushing the Falcon to eight second quarter-mile times at approximately 140 miles per hour. The Super Gas class is a highly competitive class with cars winning (or losing) by as little as one, one-thousandth of a second. This close competition makes the Super Gas class a very exciting class in which to compete or just watch. Tweet Revenge is my first full-on drag car (non-street legal) and I look forward to racing it for many years to come. |
